How to Upload a Video to YouTube

Use this step-by-step demo to learn how to upload a video to YouTube.
  1. Go to studio.youtube.com and click Create in the top-right corner, then select Upload videos.
  2. Click Select files and choose your video file from your device, or drag and drop the file into the upload window.
  3. While[a][b] the video uploads, enter your video title in the Title field. Use a clear, descriptive title that reflects the video's topic and helps viewers understand what it's about at a glance.
  4. Add a video description. Include a summary of the video content, any relevant links, and a call to action such as subscribing or visiting your website. The first two to three lines appear before the "Show more" cutoff and are the most important.
  5. Click Upload thumbnail to select your custom thumbnail file or allow autogeneration.

  6. Select the appropriate audience setting - choose Yes, it's made for kids if your content targets children, otherwise select No, it's not made for kids.
  7. Click Next to proceed through the video elements and checks screens.
  8. On the Visibility screen, select Public, Unlisted, or Scheduled depending on when you want the video to go live. Click Publish or Schedule to complete the upload.
