Use this interactive demo to learn how to set up and save a dashboard template in Amplitude.

Quick summary

Amplitude's dashboard templates let you instantly build pre-structured analytics views by selecting a template, mapping your events, and saving a custom dashboard — reducing setup time and ensuring consistent reporting across your team.

Steps

  1. Go to the top-left corner and click Create.
  2. Hover over the Dashboard option, then select the specific template you wish to use.
  3. Tap the Events tab and choose the event you want to include in the dashboard.
  4. Review the dashboard layout and check the displayed details, then tap Save As Dashboard in the top-right corner.
  5. Enter a unique dashboard name in the input field and specify the save location.
  6. Tap Save to confirm and proceed.
  7. The selected Amplitude template is now applied and ready to use as your dashboard.

📌 Why this matters

Amplitude's dashboard templates enable product and data teams to instantly spin up pre-built analytics views without building charts from scratch. By mapping existing events to a ready-made template, teams standardize reporting and surface key metrics faster. This feature reduces onboarding time for new team members and ensures every stakeholder is working from a consistent, data-driven dashboard. For organizations scaling their product analytics practice, dashboard templates are a critical shortcut to faster, more aligned decision-making.
