Descript's Text to Speech feature lets you convert written scripts into realistic AI-generated audio using cloned or pre-built voices. You can generate, preview, and edit spoken audio directly inside your Descript project without any external recording equipment.
Steps
- Open Descript and either start a new project or open an existing one.
- Select "Write AI speech" to launch the text-to-speech tool.
- Click the speaker name to assign a voice — choose your cloned voice or one of Descript's pre-built voices.
- Type or paste the text you want to convert into speech into the project's script area.
- Once done, click on the text and select the play button to preview your generated audio.
