Use this interactive demo to learn how to build and save a funnel analysis chart in Amplitude.

Quick summary

Amplitude's Funnel Analysis feature lets you track how users move through key product events, from a starting action to an ending action, so you can identify drop-off points and optimize conversion. This walkthrough shows you how to configure a funnel, define your events, and save the results to a dashboard in just a few steps.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the left-side panel and click Templates.
  2. Select Funnel Analysis from the list of available template options.
  3. In the Events settings tab, specify your Starting Event and Ending Event to define the funnel scope.
  4. Click Save As Dashboard in the top-right corner to preserve your funnel configuration.
  5. Enter a unique dashboard name, choose your preferred storage location, then click Save.
  6. Your funnel analysis dataset will now appear on the newly created dashboard.

📌 Why this matters

Funnel Analysis in Amplitude gives product and growth teams a clear, data-driven view of how users progress through critical workflows — from sign-up to activation, or from browse to purchase. By pinpointing exactly where users drop off between a starting event and an ending event, teams can prioritize the right fixes and experiments to improve conversion rates. Saving funnel charts directly to a shared dashboard means stakeholders across product, marketing, and engineering always have up-to-date visibility into user behavior. For any team serious about reducing churn and maximizing product-led growth, Amplitude's Funnel Analysis is an essential tool.
