This demo shows how to push Jira metrics to Datadog through Zapier by building a no-code Zap that triggers on Jira issue events and sends the data as Datadog metrics. Follow the steps below to set up the full Jira-to-Datadog integration without writing any code.
Steps
- Log in to Zapier, click "Create", and select "Zaps" to begin building your automation.
- Click "Trigger" to start configuring the trigger step of your Zap.
- Search for Jira Software Cloud and select it as your trigger app.
- Choose a trigger event, such as "New Issue", "Updated Issue", or "Issue Transitioned".
- Connect your Jira account to authorize Zapier to access your Jira data.
- Select the Jira project and status you want to track.
- Run a test to ensure Zapier detects the Jira event correctly.
- Add Datadog as the Action App in your Zap.
- Select a Datadog action event to define what happens when the trigger fires.
- Connect Datadog, map Jira fields to metrics, test the sync, and click "Publish" to activate your Zap.
