Use this interactive demo to learn how to set up a disqualification page in your SurveyMonkey survey.

Quick summary

A disqualification page in SurveyMonkey uses skip logic to automatically redirect unqualified respondents away from your survey, ensuring only eligible participants complete it. You can configure this by editing a screening question, opening the Logic settings, and routing specific answers to the built-in disqualification page.

Steps

  1. Open your SurveyMonkey dashboard, locate the survey you want to update, and click the ellipsis icon next to its title.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Edit survey.
  3. Navigate to the Design Survey tab and select the screening question you created.
  4. Click on the screening question to open it for editing.
  5. Find the LOGIC option in the question toolbar and click on it.
  6. For the disqualifying answer (e.g., "No"), set the skip destination to the Disqualification Page.
  7. Click SAVE to apply the skip logic settings.
  8. Click Preview survey to confirm the disqualification page works as expected.

📌 Why this matters

Adding a disqualification page in SurveyMonkey is essential for researchers and marketers who need to collect responses only from a qualified audience. By combining screening questions with skip logic, survey creators can automatically filter out ineligible respondents before they proceed, protecting data quality and reducing completion time for unqualified participants. This feature is especially valuable for market research, academic studies, and customer feedback programs where respondent eligibility directly impacts the reliability of results. Configuring a disqualification page ensures your survey data stays clean, relevant, and actionable.
