Use this interactive demo to learn how to create a social media calendar in Coda and schedule posts with Buffer.

Quick summary

Building a social media calendar in Coda lets teams plan and organize content by day and content type using a structured Grid table. Once the calendar is complete, posts can be scheduled directly in Buffer using the Publish dashboard for consistent, on-time social media delivery.

Steps

  1. Inside your Coda doc, click the Insert icon to get started.
  2. Select Grid from the list of available options.
  3. Click Add Column to insert as many columns as you need for your calendar structure.
  4. Click Add Row to insert as many rows as needed to match your content plan.
  5. Label each column cell with the corresponding posting day by clicking the cell and typing the day name.
  6. Add content labels to the row cells by clicking each cell and entering the appropriate label.
  7. Highlight the column labels and use the Text Formatting or Cell Color option to customize their style.
  8. Repeat the formatting steps for row labels and any other parts of your social media calendar.
  9. Click each cell and enter the post content to fill in your social media calendar.
  10. Review the design and content of your calendar and make any necessary changes.
  11. Go to Buffer's Publish dashboard, click New, and use your Coda calendar to encode content into the Create Post panel to schedule posts.

📌 Why this matters

Building a social media calendar in Coda combined with Buffer's scheduling tools gives marketing teams a centralized, flexible system for planning and publishing content across multiple channels. Coda's Grid feature makes it easy to organize posts by day and content type, reducing the risk of missed publishing deadlines or inconsistent messaging. Connecting that structured plan to Buffer's Publish dashboard ensures every piece of content is queued and distributed on time without switching between disconnected tools. This workflow is ideal for small teams and solo creators who need a lightweight, customizable content planning and social media scheduling solution.
