Use this interactive demo to learn how to rename a survey directly inside SurveyMonkey.

Quick summary

Renaming a survey in SurveyMonkey takes just a few clicks inside the Design Survey tab, where you can edit the title and save the updated name instantly. The change reflects across your dashboard and for all respondents as soon as you save it.

Steps

  1. On the dashboard, find the survey whose name you want to change and click on the survey title to open it.
  2. Once inside the survey, click the Design Survey tab.
  3. At the top of the page, locate the current survey title and click directly on it to make it editable.
  4. Type the new survey name into the title field.
  5. Click Save to confirm and save the new survey name.
  6. Your survey will now display the updated name both on your dashboard and for anyone responding to it.

📌 Why this matters

Keeping survey names accurate and organized is essential for teams managing multiple research projects in SurveyMonkey. Renaming a survey ensures respondents see a clear, relevant title, which can improve response rates and reduce confusion. With SurveyMonkey's inline title editing inside the Design Survey tab, users can update a survey name in seconds without disrupting any existing responses or share links. This simple but critical feature helps teams maintain a clean, professional survey workflow at scale.
