Use this interactive demo to learn how to build a price comparison table in Coda using external data.

Quick summary

This demo shows you how to create a price comparison table in Coda by inserting a structured table, configuring column types, and entering product pricing data from an external source. Following these steps lets teams centralize and compare product prices directly inside a Coda doc without leaving the workspace.

Steps

  1. Inside your Coda doc, click the Insert button to get started.
  2. Choose Table from the list of options.
  3. Enter a unique table name in the input field, then use the floating menu to customize its style as needed.
  4. Rename each column label by double-clicking the header and typing your preferred label name.
  5. Click the column menu to begin changing the column type for each column.
  6. Select Column Type from the column menu options.
  7. Set the column type to Currency for any column that will hold product pricing data.
  8. Click Options to access further table customization settings.
  9. In the right-side panel, configure the available display and layout settings to your preference.
  10. Click each cell and type or paste the corresponding pricing data, referencing your external source for accuracy.
  11. After completing all steps, your price comparison table is created and saved to your Coda doc.

📌 Why this matters

Building a price comparison table in Coda gives teams a single, structured workspace to track and evaluate product pricing from external sources in real time. Unlike static spreadsheets, Coda lets you customize column types — such as Currency — and apply table formatting that makes price data instantly scannable and shareable. This approach eliminates manual copy-paste errors by centralizing external pricing data in one living document that updates alongside your team's workflow. For procurement, sales, or product teams, a Coda price comparison table is a faster, more collaborative alternative to managing pricing in disconnected tools.
