Expanding the comment box in SurveyMonkey lets you control the textbox width so respondents have more space to provide detailed, open-ended feedback. You can adjust the comment box size directly inside the Design Survey editor using the Adjust Question Layout option.
Steps
- From the dashboard, click on the ellipsis icon next to the survey title.
- Select Edit Survey from the dropdown menu.
- Inside the Design Survey tab, go to Build and select Add next to the comment box.
- Add your question in the empty field.
- Click Options located above the question.
- Select Adjust Question Layout from the options menu.
- Go to Textbox Width and click the drop-down arrow.
- Select your preferred textbox width from the available options.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
- Select Preview Survey to confirm the comment box appears as intended.
- Verify that the expanded comment box gives respondents enough space to submit detailed feedback.
