Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect Canva and Shopify using a Zapier automation.

Quick summary

This step-by-step walkthrough shows you how to integrate Canva with Shopify using Zapier by building a Zap that connects a Shopify trigger to a Canva action. Once published, the automation runs in the background so new Shopify events instantly drive Canva workflows without any manual effort.

Steps

  1. Log in to Zapier, click Create, and select Zaps to start building a new automation.
  2. Click Trigger to begin setting up the trigger step of your Zap.
  3. Search for and select Shopify as the Trigger App.
  4. Choose a trigger event that will kick off the automation in Shopify.
  5. Sign in to your Shopify account and click Continue to connect it to Zapier.
  6. Click Test trigger to verify that Zapier can pull live data from Shopify.
  7. Select Continue with selected record to confirm the trigger data and move to the action step.
  8. Search for and select Canva as the action app.
  9. Choose an action event that Canva should perform when the trigger fires.
  10. Sign in to your Canva account and click Continue to authorize the connection.
  11. Complete and customize the required fields to map Shopify data into the Canva action.
  12. Click Test step to confirm the Canva action executes correctly with sample data.
  13. Click Publish to activate the integration and complete the Canva–Shopify Zap.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating Canva with Shopify through Zapier eliminates the manual work of updating product visuals and marketing assets whenever your store changes. By automating the connection between Shopify events and Canva actions, e-commerce teams can instantly generate or update design assets in response to new orders, products, or inventory changes. This no-code automation saves hours of repetitive work and ensures your Canva designs stay in sync with your live Shopify store. For merchants and marketers who rely on both platforms, this Zap is a practical way to scale creative production without increasing headcount.
