Quick summary

Setting up a Google Analytics account involves creating an account, configuring a property with your website details, accepting data terms, and installing a tracking code snippet on your site. This step-by-step process gives you full access to website traffic data and audience insights inside the GA dashboard.

  1. Click Get started today on the Google Analytics marketing page to begin account creation.
  2. Fill in the required information including Account name, Website Name, and Website URL.
  3. Select the appropriate data sharing checkboxes and click Next.
  4. Enter your Property name, Industry category, and Reporting time zone, then click Next.
  5. Select your Business size and click Next.
  6. Choose your objectives and click Next.

  8. Accept the Controller Data Protection Terms and click I Accept.
  9. Click Get tagging instructions to access your site's tracking setup.
  10. Click through to the tagging instructions panel to view your options.
  11. Select the Install manually tab and copy the code snippet.
  12. Paste the snippet into the header section of your website, just before the closing </head> tag, to complete setup.

📌 Why this matters

Google Analytics is the world's most widely used web analytics platform, enabling businesses to track website traffic, user behavior, and conversion performance in one place. Setting up a GA account correctly — including property configuration, data sharing preferences, and tracking code installation — is the critical first step to making data-driven marketing decisions. Without a properly configured GA account, teams lack visibility into which channels drive traffic, where users drop off, and how campaigns perform. This demo helps marketers, developers, and business owners get their Google Analytics account live quickly and without errors.
