Use this interactive demo to learn how to sync Google Sheets data into your Coda doc automatically.

Quick summary

Coda lets you import data from Google Sheets directly into a Coda doc and configure a recurring sync schedule so your table stays up to date automatically. By setting a refresh interval, you eliminate manual data entry and keep your workspace aligned with your live spreadsheet data.

Steps

  1. Inside your Coda doc, go to the top-right corner and click Insert.
  2. Click the search bar and type Google Sheets to find the integration.
  3. Select Google Sheets from the list under More Tables, then drag it to the main workspace.
  4. Enter the URL of your spreadsheet, ensure the necessary permissions are granted, then press Enter to proceed.
  5. Tap Sync Now to fetch the data from your Google Sheet into Coda.
  6. Select Hourly as the Refresh Interval to automate recurring data imports.
  7. Tap Table Options to access additional configuration settings.
  8. Choose your preferred table format and configure the corresponding customization settings.
  9. Your Google Sheets data is now live in your Coda doc and will refresh automatically on the hourly schedule you set.

📌 Why this matters

Setting up recurring data imports from Google Sheets into Coda eliminates the need for manual copy-paste workflows, keeping your Coda tables always in sync with live spreadsheet data. Teams that rely on frequently updated data — such as sales figures, inventory counts, or project tracking — benefit from automated hourly refreshes that remove human error and save time. Coda's native Google Sheets integration makes it straightforward to connect external data sources without writing any code, making it accessible for both technical and non-technical users. This feature is essential for any team looking to centralize data and build dynamic, automatically updated documents inside Coda.
